Charles William Cline

July 6, 1925 — February 26, 2014

Charles William Cline, 88, of Owensboro, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born on July 6, 1925 in Daviess Co. KY. Charles was a retired boilermaker after 37 years and was a member of the Boilermakers Union Local #40 for 64 years. He recently had received his 60 year pin. He loved playing golf with all his friends at Hillcrest Golf Course where he was a member, also hunting and fishing, Nascar racing, and the outdoors. He especially enjoyed working and sitting out in his yard watching the great grandkids play. He had always loved watching his daughters and granddaughters playing in their basketball and softball games. He and his wife Kathryn enjoyed going on the Senior trips with Yellow Creek Baptist Church where he was a member.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar W. and Florence Greer Cline, three sisters, Anna Lois Unsel, Kay Wilson, and Eva Mae Cline, and a brother, James Cline.

Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Kathryn Hope Cline, four daughters, Judy Cline, June Cline, Donna Jones and husband Ricky, and Debbie Head, all of Owensboro, four grandchildren, Misty and husband Ryan Powers, Christy Prater, Tiffany Head, and Chase Jones, all of Owensboro, five great grandchildren, Grayson and Jackson Powers, Lincoln, Miles, and Jada Prater, a sister, Geraldine Greenwell, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 28, at Yellow Creek Baptist Church with Dr. James Wedding officiating. Entombment will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and after 10:00 A.M. Friday at the church. Boilermaker rites will be held at 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

The family would like to give a special thanks all the staff, nurses, and doctors at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital and Hermitage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for all the wonderful care they gave Charles during his stays there.
