Charles Kenneth Church Jr., 70, of Owensboro, passed away August 8, 2017 at his home. He was born November 29, 1946, in Owensboro, to Charles Kenneth Church Sr. and Dottie M. Baird. Kenny graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School in 1965. He was retired from Swedish Match where he worked as a Maintenance Supervisor. Kenny also served in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam.
Kenny loved to hunt, especially squirrel hunting. He also loved to do wood working and made many pieces that were used every day in his home.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Kenneth Church Sr., sister, Carol Briesath; and his father in law, Forrest Sublett.
Kenny is survived by his wife of 42 years, Anna Berry Church; mother and step father, Dottie M. Baird and Art Baird; daughter, Tiffany Calhoun and her husband Jeremy of Owensboro; his three sons, Brad Farmer and his wife April of Owensboro, Zack Farmer, and Brian Church and his wife Lana of Hawesville; grandchildren, Zachary, Kelcey, Tyler, Travis, Halie, Krystyn, Kiefer, Ashton, Lillian, Logan, and Jaxson; 3 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his special four-legged companion, his dog Moose.
He is also survived by his brother, Steve Church and his wife Dez of Lexington; mother in law, Mary Sublett; sister in law, Freida Pagan; and brother in law, Ben Berry and his wife Gina.
A funeral service will be noon Monday August 14, 2017 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Dr. Paul Strahan officiating. Entombment will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens with Military Honors being performed. Visitation will be Sunday 1 till 5pm and Monday 10 till 12pm at the funeral home.
