Charles Earl Chappell

Charles Earl Chappell, 67 of 1014 Gardenside Dr., Owensboro, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born on May 19, 1941 in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late Charles W. and Mary Rose Fenwick Chappell. He was retired from the Wendell Foster Center after 17 years and was a member of the River City Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with all his family. He was also preceded in death by a brother, William Chappell and a sister, Tiel Harvell.

Surviving is his wife of 27 years, Vivian Chappell, a son, Charles "Ricky" Chappell and wife Sherrie of Owensboro, four daughters, Lisa Stiles and husband Duane of Oakland City, Ind., Gail Masterson and husband John of Utica, Vicki Ammons and husband Ricky and Melinda Stone, all of Owensboro, 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren including twins Charles and Chris Taylor, whom he raised, three sisters, twin sister Pearl Miller and husband Dudley of Philpot, Judy Bittel of Utica, and Martha Wathen and husband Mike of Owensboro, two brothers, Joe Chappell and wife Flo of Panther Creek and James Chappell of Utica, and a sister-in-law, Nancy Chappell of Utica.

Services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Friday and after 9:30 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wendell Foster Center, 815 Triplett St., Owensboro, Ky. 42303.
