Charles E. Charlie Camfield, 79, of Owensboro, died Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at Owensboro Medical Health System. Born December 27, 1927 in Evansville, IN, Mr. Camfield was the son of the late Cleo Dempsey and Mary Evelyn Lyles Camfield; attended Owensboro Faith Fellowship Church; owned and operated C-F Trucking; retired from truck driving after 55 years on the road; was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of Teamsters Union Local 89; and he enjoyed Nascar and gardening.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter; Candice Camfield.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Charles L. and Emma Camfield of Owensboro and Tommy Wayne and Tina Riggs Camfield of Owensboro; his daughters, Linda Boyken of McLean Co., and Deborah Kay Camfield Cooper of Owensboro; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services are at 1:00 on Friday, June 15, 2007 at Glenn Funeral Home with Pastor Phil Skinner officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and after 9:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
