Charles William Brown

Charles William Brown, 63, of Elizabethtown, KY went home to be with his Saviour, Jesus Christ, Monday, February 20, 2006 at his home after a valiant battle with cancer. Born May 18, 1942 in Sorgho, Mr. Brown was self-employed; a member of the Christ Church of Grace in Atlanta, GA; and an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War where he contracted radiation poisoning from working with nuclear weapons.. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Brown.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Jacquelyn Olds Brown; daughters, Kelly Smith of Bowling Green, Terri Graves and Carolyn Cook both of Portland, TN; grandchildren, Summer Grinstead, Rachel Graves and Seth Graves; his mother, Becky Goodman Davis of Owensboro; brother, George Doug Brown of Kokomo, IN; sisters, Linda Minton of Owensboro and Edith (and Steve) Hays of Philpot; brothers-in-law, Carl (and Deborah) Olds , Roy Olds, Mark (and Jill) Olds, Brian ( and Patty) Olds; and special friends, Jamie, M&M and China; and the staff of Camp Carlson under the direction of Diana Burnett.

Services are 11 A.M. (EST), Thursday, February 23, 2006 at the Pritchard Place Chapel, Ft. Knox. Entombment will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens in Owensboro. Visitation will be from 2-8 P.M. Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro and after 9 A.M. (EST) at the Chapel at Ft. Knox on Thursday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society.
