Charleen Dieterle Pruden, 84, of Owensboro died Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born December 20, 1931 in Evansville, Indiana. Mrs. Pruden put family first, was very proud of all her children, enjoyed time with her grandchildren, especially annual trips to Florida. She loved attending church and had served as a Sunday School secretary as well as a Girl Scout Leader. Mrs. Pruden was an avid reader who enjoyed working puzzles, playing Bunco and cards, and going out to eat with her friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Clara Dieterle; her husband of 50 years, William V. ''Bill'' Pruden in 2001; brothers, J.W. Townsley and Edward Hayden; sisters, Thelma Stone and Marjorie Wagoner; and a grandson, William Bradley Pruden.
Mrs. Pruden is survived by son, Bill Pruden; three daughters, Janice Eaves, Tracey Mills and husband Jim, and Trish Green and husband Tim, all of Owensboro; brothers, Larry Hayden, Kenneth Hayden, and Terry Hayden; sisters, Rosemary Weber, Carolyn Jester, Martha Weigand and Nancy Dennison; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
The service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, April 16 at Lewis Lane Baptist Church with Rev. Charlie Miller and Rev. Franklin Skaggs officiating. Visitation will be 2:00 to 8:00 PM Friday and Saturday from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with entombment at Rosehill Cemetery.
