Catherine Boswell Tabor

Catherine Boswell Tabor, 93, formerly of Placid Place in Owensboro, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2007, at Hillcrest Healthcare Center. She was born April 6, 1914 in Ohio County, to the late Henry Wayne and Annie Mae Mitchell Boswell.

Catherine graduated from Dundee High School in the first graduating class in 1932 and received her RN certification from Owensboro Daviess County Hospital School of Nursing in 1937. She was a member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the Mary Lou Phillips Sunday School Class. She retired from General Electric after 25 years of service, where she worked on staff as a Registered Nurse.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Boswell, and a sister, Martine Boswell Cossler.

Survivors include her three children, Ann Tabor Eblen Stayton and her husband, Jim of Louisville, Ed Tabor and his wife, Dukie of Utica, Tom Tabor and his wife, Lynda of Philpot; five grandchildren, Catherine Sherrard and her husband, Eric, Cyndi Settles and her husband, Nick, Christie Fogle and her husband, Eric, all of Owensboro, Gretchen Butler and her husband, Donald of Houston, TX, and Eddie Tabor III and his wife, Lori of Indianapolis, IN; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Henry Ray Boswell and his wife, Mary of Henderson.

Services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford. Visitation will be 5:00 until 8:00 PM Monday and after 10:00 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Childrens Home, P.O. Drawer B, Versailles, KY 40383 or Settle Memorial United Methodist Church, 202 East 4th Street, Owensboro, KY 42303.
