Catherine Louise Kincaid Saalwaechter, 83, of Owensboro, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016, while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born June 17, 1933 to the late Marshall and Lillian Campbell Kincaid. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James C. Saalwaechter on January 28, 2007 and a brother, Adrian Kincaid.
Catherine had worked for General Electric in Tell City, Daviess County Public Schools, the Rusty Trawler Restaurant, and the former Our Lady of Mercy Hospital. She was a former member of Mount Zion Cumberland Presbyterian Church, current member and ordained elder of the Owensboro Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and member of the Ensor Homemakers. Catherine loved the Lord, her family, friends, and her church families from both churches.
Surviving are her son, Carl Wayne Saalwaechter and wife Jean of Owensboro, her grandson, Adam Tinsley Saalwaechter and wife Meredith of Hartford, great grandchildren, Ian Parker Saalwaechter and Blair Elizabeth Saalwaechter, a brother, Forrest Kincaid and wife Patsy of Owensboro, two sisters, Edith Morgan of Tell City, IN and Maxine Amos of Murfreesboro, TN, a brother-in-law, Kenneth Saalwaechter, a sister-in-law, Theresa Saalwaechter, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 1, at Owensboro Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Entombment will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and after 9:00 A.M. Friday at Owensboro Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
The family would like to thank the caregivers that helped take such wonderful care of her during the past 18 months; you ladies were a gift from God.
