Catherine L. Simmons Johnson

Catherine L. Simmons Johnson, 48, of 683 Danberry St., Owensboro, died Tuesday, September 12, 2006, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born April 16, 1958 to the late Charles William and Frances Lanham Simmons in Daviess County. She had been an assistant manager for Quality Quick and was a member of Dawson Baptist Church. She loved playing cards with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Dale Simmons in 1954.

Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Roy N. Johnson, Sr.; a daughter, Susan Lynn Brockwell and her husband, Chris; her sons, William Steven Simmons and Roy N. Johnson, Jr., all of Owensboro; nine grandchildren, Koby Waller, Kalib, KarryC, Keagan and Kola Simmons, Brittany and Racheal Johnson, Destiny and Jacklyn Jackson; her brothers, Author Leon Simmons, Darrell Simmons and William E. Simmons, all of Owensboro; her mother-in-law, Minnie L. Potter of Owensboro, sister-in-law, Mary Rose Fitzgerald of Owensboro, brothers-in-law, Gene Johnson of Owensboro, Mike Johnson of Lewisport and Charles William Johnson of California; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 1:00 PM Friday, at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday and after 9:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.
