Catherine Geneva Coleman Chew

Catherine Geneva Chew, 85, of Owensboro, died Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Heartland Villa in Lewisport. Geneva was a native of Daviess County born to the late Willie and Edna (Cambron) Coleman. She had worked for General Electric, the Cigar Factory, Charles Todd Linen and National Linen. Geneva attended Owensboro Christian Church, and she liked to sew, loved to travel with her sister Carrie Ada, listen to music and read.
Mrs. Chew was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Chew Sr in June, 1989, a son, Claude Chew Jr. in June 2009, a grandson, Jeff Nation in August 2010, as well as brothers, Jessie Floyd Coleman and John Estil Coleman, and a sister Gladys Keelin.

Surviving is a daughter Kim Nation and husband David of Owensboro, a sister, Carrie Ada Anderson of Evansville, IN., grandchildren, Kevin (Jackie) Akers, Keith (Valerie) Chew, Paul (Ami) Nation, Grant Nation, a daughter-in-law, Rita Chew,four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Tim Hall officiating. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Saturday.
