Catherine Stull Bickwermert

July 10, 1927 — May 3, 2011

Catherine Stull Bickwermert, 83, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in Daviess County on July 10, 1927, she was the daughter of the late John William and Josephine Young Stull; was a member of Immaculate Catholic Church; and had served on the Altar Society at St Pius X Catholic Church. Mrs. Bickwermert fulfilled her life's dream of being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved caring for her family, cooking, sewing, and crocheting. She enjoyed reading, watching American Idol, UK basketball, and Atlanta Braves and St Louis Cardinals baseball. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Bickwermert on February 10, 2003 and an infant daughter, Brenda Ann Bickwermert on January 6, 1952.

Surviving are her children, Michael (Jean) Bickwermert of Clarksville, IN, Ruth Ann (Bill) Cooper of Frankfort, John (Deborah) Bickwermert of Utica, Martin Bickwermert (fiance' TinAnne Trotter) of Philpot, and Kathleen (Ron) Roark of Owensboro; grandchildren, Melissa (Brad) Carter of Owensboro, Erin (Andrew) Patton of Newburgh, Alan Bickwermert of Sellersburg, IN, Travis Bickwermert and Marcus Bickwermert of Louisville, Sarah (Ross) Blubaum of Richland, IN, Tyler Dukate and Kalynn Bickwermert of Owensboro; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, John William (Imogene) Stull, Jr. of Utica and Charles (Jan) Stull of Grants Pass, OR; sisters, Rita (Bender) Wedding and Mary Ruth Stull of Owensboro.

Services are 11 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2011 at Immaculate Catholic Church followed by burial in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday with prayers at 6:30 p.m. and after 9 a.m. on Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St Vincent DePaul, c/o Immaculate Catholic Church.
