Carroll C. Ferguson, 81, of Owensboro passed away Saturday June 9, 2018 under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky with his family at his side. Mr. Ferguson was born June 8, 1937 in Masonville to the late Chester and Pauline Smith Ferguson. Retiring from the OMU Elmer Smith Station after 35 years, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, working on the family farm in Breckinridge County, and volunteering for the church where he received the Sophia Award for stewardship. Carroll was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and served with the Knights of Columbus Council 6101. Mr. Ferguson also served his country as an SP2 in the National Guard.
Mr. Ferguson was also preceded in death by his great granddaughter, Mallory Renae Ferguson in 2007.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 61 years, Anna Joyce (Clark) Ferguson; two daughters, Donna Gayle Hamlet and husband Mike of Owensboro and Carol Ann Gay of Prairie Village, Kansas; two sons, Jeff Ferguson and wife Donna of Maceo and Rex Ferguson and wife Lori of Philpot; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; brothers Ben Harvey Ferguson (Doris) and Mike Ferguson (Nancy); sister, Lana Crowe; numerous nieces and nephews.
Service will be 10:00 am Tuesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Pat Reynolds officiating. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 till 7:00 pm with prayers at 6:30 pm and Tuesday from 9:00 till 9:30 am at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Hospice of Western Kentucky, or St. Benedict's Shelter.
