Carrie Alberta Moore

Carrie Alberta Big Mama Moore, 80, of 1620 Mayo Ave., Owensboro, died Saturday, August 17, 2002 at her home. She was born in Daviess County, Kentucky on August 18, 1921 the daughter of Albert and Maude Beaven Mercer. Her husband, L. G. Moore preceded her in death, on January 5, 1981. She was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Moore, in November 1959; and a stepson, Leamon Moore, on January 14, 1998.

Mrs. Moore retired from General Electric Co. after 31 years. She was a member of Crosspointe Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Maude Moore of Owensboro; a grandchild; two great-grandchildren; and a stepbrother, Jack M. Bowlds of Owensboro.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2002 at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Reverend Farrell Isenburg. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2002 and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
