Carrie May Allen

Mrs. Carrie M. Allen, 97, of Owensboro, KY, died Saturday, September 18, 2004 at Leisure Years Nursing Home. She was born February 10, 1907 to the late Polk and Amanda Hamilton Prewett in Dixon, MO. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Centralia, IL, the Order of White Shrine, Order of the Eastern Star in Centralia. She was a homemaker, loved reading, cooking and being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Allen,who died in 1980.

Survivors include one daughter, Wilma Bredar of Owensboro; two grandchildren, Carrie and her husband, John Oliver of Owensboro, James and his wife, Sallie Bredar of Danville, KY; three great-grandchildren, Jamie and John Michael Oliver, both of Owensboro, and Patricia Bredar of Danville, KY; one sister, Hazel Edwards of Hillsboro, IL; and one brother, Ralph Prewett of Plant City, FL.

Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Centralia, IL. Online condolences may be made at www.glennfuneralhome.com
