Carolyn Trogden

Carolyn ''Granny'' Trogden, 73, of Owensboro was born on June 23, 1937. On Thursday, March 31, 2011, she passed away and entered the Gates of Heaven to be with Jesus, her loving husband Joe ''Sonny'' Trogden, a grandson Brian Trogden, her parents Mr. and Mrs. Roy E. and Gladys Douglas Minton, a brother Scotty Minton, and a sister Valice Lee Minton. Granny worked at General Electric for 39 years and frequently talked about how much she enjoyed her work. She was an extremely humble person who was always quietly doing for others. Granny loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with all of them, her dog, Kesha, and working in her flower garden.

Carolyn married Joe ''Sonny'' Trogden on Jan. 19, 1957. To this union arrived two sons and two daughters, Joey (Sharon) Trogden Jr. of Blackwater, Mo., and Randy (Shannon) Trogden of Hopkinsville, Cindy (John) Ferrell and Pam (Scott) Oliver both of Owensboro; 14 beautiful grandchildren; 11 precious great-grandchildren; a sister, Donna (Jim) Hester of Evansville; and two brothers, Roby Minton of Owensboro and Rex (Sherry) Minton of Norfork, Va.

The family most sincerely request that all expressions of sympathy be made in the form of a donation to Compassionate Care Adult Day Care Center, located at the Health Department. Services are at noon Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation is from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
