Carolyn Hurm Snyder

April 19, 1933 — January 7, 2010

Carolyn H. Snyder, 76, of Parkview Drive, Owensboro, died Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born in Owensboro to the late Eddie and Mary (Price) Hurm. She was a lifelong member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church. She was very strong in her faith, and very family oriented, serving children as a leader in Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts for over 30 years. She was a registered nurse by profession and volunteered at Pennyroyal Girl Scout Camp. She worked at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital, and retired from MPD in 1994. She loved her garden and flowers. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Elaine "Pooh" Hurm.

Surviving are her husband of 49 years, John Snyder, children, Kim (Steve) Gillians of Owensboro, Dave Snyder of Los Angeles, CA., Jeff Snyder of Owensboro, and Jenny (Randy) Thomas of Bowling Green, grandchildren, Greg Snyder of Louisville, and Rebecca, Mary Catherine, Seth, Andrew, and Luke Thomas all of Bowling Green, brothers and sisters, John Hurm of Chicago, IL, Barbara Hurm of Owensboro, Phyllis (Jim) Scott of Morganfield, and Ken (Therese) Hurm of Morganfield, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 11, 2010 at Blessed Mother Catholic Church with Fr. John Meredith officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 7 p.m. with prayers at 7 p.m. at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and after 9 a.m. Monday. The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Girl Scouts of America or to Blessed Mother Catholic Church
