Carolyn J. Peters

Carolyn J. Peters, 75, of Owensboro, formerly of Titusville, FL and Farragut, TN passed away June 23, 2012, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 19th, 1937 in Owensboro to the late Thomas and Estelle Murphy. Carolyn graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School in 1956 and was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, playing cards and cooking. She loved spending time with her brothers and sisters and loved going on family cruises. She also loved taking care of her canine child "Eli" who played an important role in the family.


She is preceded in death by two brothers: Thomas Murphy and Anthony Murphy

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years Donald Peters; children Kevin Peters (Teresa) of Edmond, OK, Kimberly Thrush (Daniel) of Titusville, FL, and Kenneth Peters (DeAnna) of St. Petersburg, FL; Brothers Douglas Murphy (Frances) of Speedwell, TN, James Murphy (Sharon), Randy Murphy (Joanne), Kenneth Murphy (Dianne), Terry Murphy (Judy), and Roger Murphy all of Owensboro; Sisters Suzanne Calhoun, Highland IN, Deborah Hermanson (Russ) of Titusville FL,
Patsy Clary, Jackie Henry (Richard), Shirley Benningfield, Phyllis Henderson (Larry) all of Owensboro; she is also survived by an army of nieces and nephews

Services will be 5:00 P.M. Sunday, June 24 at the Chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory Visitation will be from 3:00-5:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Ennichement in the Columbarium at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Ft. Knox will follow at a later date
