Carolyn Lee

Carolyn Lee, 80, of Owensboro, passed away February 2, 2026. Carolyn was born on April 12, 1945, in Livermore, KY, to the late Rollie and Mary Jo Green Johnson.

Carolyn was a hardworking and caring person who loved her family and animals. She was a dog groomer who owned Pampered Pets in Owensboro and also worked in several veterinary clinics over the years. She and her husband shared a family farm where they raised animals of all kinds, big and small.

She enjoyed staying busy and liked to travel whenever she had the chance. If she had a place to go and someone to go with her, she was ready. Shopping, especially for shoes, was something she enjoyed, and she often joined her husband in his outdoor interests, including fishing, shooting, and drag racing. Carolyn also raced in the Powder Puff division.

Carolyn was active with the Wendell Foster Center and hosted retreats and outings at their farm. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Family was especially important to Carolyn. She was deeply involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and truly cherished the time she spent with them. She will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her work, and the many people and animals whose lives she touched.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, James Lee, and a brother, Larry Johnson.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Debbie Beavin, Angela Pomeranz (Derek), and Gary Lee (Denise); grandchildren, Sarah Smith, Erik Beavin, Rosalyn Haycraft (Derrick), J.D. Lee, and Jacob Lee; and great-grandchildren, Tosha Smith, Robert Smith, Walyon Haycraft, Ella Haycraft, and J.T. Lee.

Visitation for Carolyn Lee will be from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
