Carolyn Sue Hamby

Carolyn Sue Hamby, 85, passed away Monday, February 4, 2019 at Wellington Parc. Born in Morgan County, KY, she was a daughter of the late Levi and Addie Rose Ward. She had a deep affection for her grandchildren. Civic and business minded, Mrs. Hamby was a member and past president of the Civinets and with her late husband started WHRZ radio. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy Douglas Hamby; her son, Mark Douglas Hamby; her sisters Hattie Lou Johnson, Nancy Perkins and "Mackie" Maxine Burberry; and her brother Earl Ward.

Mrs. Hamby is survived by her daughter Pamela Legate and her husband Perry; her grandchildren Brian Hamby (Ashley), Mark Hamby (Ashlee) Angela Kenslow (Ken) Michelle Smith (William), and Josh Legate (Samantha); her great grandchildren Eli Hamby, Logan Hamby, Morgen Hamby, Madison Hamby, and Mallory Hamby; and her sisters Ann McKenna and Jane Kehrt.

The funeral service for Mrs. Hamby will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where visitation will be after 12:00 noon Friday. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
