Carolyn McCarty Barfelz

Carolyn Barfelz, of Owensboro, KY, died peacefully Tuesday, the 8th of January, 2013 at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, TN at the age of 54. Carolyn was employed at Kroger on Frederica. She enjoyed reading and crocheting. Born May 18, 1958, the daughter of Charles Jerome and Ruth Ann Fogle McCarty, Carolyn was preceded in death by her father Jerome McCarty, and granddaughter Alanna Mathews.

Surviving are her mother Ruth Ann Fogle McCarty; sons, Johnathan Barfelz (and spouse Rebecca) of Ukon OK, Joshua Barfelz (and spouse Elizabeth) of Villa Hills KY; a daughter, Gena Barfelz (and spouse Andy) of Fordsville, KY; grandchildren (Anna, Phillip, Grace, Rue, and Samantha); and siblings, Robbie (and Joyce) McCarty of Ft. Wayne IN, Betty Jean (and Mike) Cady of Raleigh NC, Joe (and Cindy) McCarty of Cloverport KY, and Gary McCarty of Boyce VA; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 11, 2013 at Precious Blood Catholic Church with Father Bruce McCarty officiating. Visitation will at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory from 4 - 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, and after 9 a.m. on Friday. Prayer will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
