Carol Jean Snyder, 69, of Owensboro, passed away on October 28, 2017 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital after a brief illness. Her daughter and son-in-law were by her side. She was born in Owensboro to the late Andrew and Mary Stallings. Carol was a graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School. She retired from Owensboro Community and Technical, where she worked in the financial aid office. She was previously employed at Golden's Video and S.W. Anderson's. Like her husband, Carol was a lifetime member of the VFW post 696.
Carol met and married the love of her life, Van Snyder in 1969. She was an amazing cook, devoted mother, and the best Nanna anyone could ask for. She was a fighter, all the way to the end. She loved U.K. Basketball, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her family from VFW Post 696, whom she would often cook for on Saturdays.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Van Snyder, March 28, 2017; her brothers Patrick Stallings, Michael Stallings, Henry Stallings, Joey Stallings, and Phillip Stallings.
She is survived by her daughter, Cassie Chatmon ( Robby), son Dale Snyder; grandchildren Taylor and Chase Chatmon, and Ciara Snyder; siblings, Theresa Daugherty, Mary Arnold, Iris Towery, and Richard Stallings (Theresa), of Sun City, Florida, brother in law Charlie Snyder of Plant City Florida, and sister-in-law Madonna Stallings, along with several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10 am Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Glenn Funeral Home Crematory. Visitation will be from 3 until 7pm Monday, October 30, 2017 and after 9 on Tuesday at the funeral home.
