Carl W. Saalwaechter

Carl W. Saalwaechter, 68, of Owensboro, went to be with the Lord on April 13, 2026, at Ohio County Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born in Owensboro on June 5, 1957, to the late James and Catherine Kincaid Saalwaechter.

Carl dedicated 35 years of hard work to Southwire, beginning in the rod mill and finishing his career in the shipping department. He married the love of his life, Jean Tinsley, and together they built a life centered on family.

Carl was a devoted father who was always present in Adam’s life, coaching his little league baseball teams and continuing to cheer him on from the sidelines through high school and college, often adding his own coaching from the stands along the way. That same love and dedication carried on to his grandchildren. He rarely missed his grandson Ian’s baseball games or his granddaughter Blair’s cheer events.

Whether at ballgames, cheer competitions, or family gatherings, Carl was known for always having his camera in hand, wanting to capture every moment, sometimes more than the family thought necessary, but always out of love. He and Jean also cherished traveling with Adam and his family, especially their trips to the beach in Destin.

Carl’s faith was a cornerstone of his life. He passed that faith on to his children and grandchildren and was a proud member of the Gideons. He was also a member of the Daviess County Pork Producers, where he enjoyed cooking at the Daviess County Fair, the Owensboro BBQ Festival, and the Apple Festival.

He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that his family will treasure always.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 42 years, Jean Tinsley Saalwaechter; son, Adam Saalwaechter and his wife, Meredith; and grandchildren, Ian and Blair Saalwaechter, and multiple cousins.
