Carl M. Hixson

Carl M. Hixson, 62, of Owensboro, died Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at his home. He was born March 31, 1948 to the late Albert and Mable Hixson in Urbana, IL. He was a member of Maceo Baptist Church, a truck driver, and an Army Veteran of the Korean and Viet-Nam Wars. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and being around animals.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Zehr in 2003, and a brother, Earl Hixson in 2009, and a brother-in-law, Daniel McCay in 2004.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Jennie Hixson; a son, Robert (Christine) Hixson of Owensboro; five grandchildren, Christopher, Marisa, Matthew, Brianna, and Joshua; four sisters, Kathy Saad of Champaign, IL, Betty Dove and Mary McCay, both of Jacksonville, AR, and Dolores Beaulier of Dry Prong, LA.

Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial in Rosehill Cemetery with Military Honors by VFW Post 696. Visitation will be 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
