Carl E. Brackett, 63, of Calhoun, died Tuesday, October 14, 2008, as a result of an accident. He was born October 25, 1944, to Edwin Luther and Nancy Waltrip Brackett in McLean County. He was a farmer and owner of Brackett Grave Services, a member of Little Flock Holiness Church and an Army Veteran. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, restoring Classic Chevy's, helping everyone he could and being with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Luther Brackett on February 24, 2004.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Brackett; his children, John Brackett of Owensboro, Samantha Peak of Owensboro, Chris (Jodie) Brackett of Calhoun, Carla (Brian) Green of Calhoun, Steve (Christina) Ramburger of Calhoun, and Kristal Sosh and (Jason Stinnett) of Owensboro; thirteen grandchildren, Rachel and Matthew Brackett, Dana Hurm and John Michael Peak, Malyn, Joseph and Andrew Brackett, Christopher Brackett, Rachel and Julie Green, Trent and Kinley Ramburger, and Hannah Sosh; mother, Nancy Brackett of Calhoun; two sisters, Linda (Harold) Philpott of Owensboro, and Tena (Carl) Humphrey of Livermore; several cousins and several nieces and nephews.
Services will 2:00 PM Friday at Little Flock Holiness Church with burial in Calhoun Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home with visitation after 11:00 AM Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Little Flock Holiness Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Richard Crabtree, 1591 Hwy 815, Calhoun, KY 42327.
