Candy M. Seaton, 46, of Owensboro died on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born in Owensboro to Nancy Baldwin and the late Douglas Owen Thurby.
Prior to her illness, Candy worked as a cook at Rosedale Rest Home and the school systems in Owensboro and Hancock County.
She enjoyed the outdoors, especially flowers. Family was very important to Candy. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and putting together scrapbooks about family life.
She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, William David Thurby.
Candy is survived by her husband of 16 years, Bobby Seaton; daughters, Tiffany Johnson and Amber Thurby, both of Owensboro; a son, Christopher Thurby; grandchildren, Kalie, Adrian, Yoselyn, Zachary, Kensli, Juanalena, Mayela, Mateo and a granddaughter expected in November; mother, Nancy Baldwin of Lewisport; sister, Carol Roberts (Daniel) of Lewisport; a brother, Wayne Thurby of Owensboro; niece, Misty Thurby; and a nephew, Larry Wayne Ramsey.
The funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, June 15 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Pastor Tim Trout will officiate. Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 3-8 PM and on Saturday after 9 AM at the funeral home.
