Byron L. King

Byron Lee King, 83, of Utica, KY passed away Tuesday, May 12, under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky. He was born August 3, 1942, to the late Zybra D. and Mary Johnnie King.

Byron attended Sugar Grove Baptist Church and was a faithful supporter for many years. He was a hardworking carpenter for the Local 90 United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners, and took providing for his family very seriously.

Byron has now made his safe crossing over Jordon and invites all to follow Jesus to make it safely to the other side to be with him.

In addition to his parents, Byron is preceded in death by his brothers, David King and Bill King; three brothers-in-law, Wayne Risinger, Herman Jolly and George Hagan; and one sister-in-law, Mary Jolly.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 62 years, Barbara Jo King; their sons, Byron Scott King (Mary) and Joseph D. King; a sister, Ellen Risinger; two sisters-in-law, Judy Norris (Louis) and Sharon Hagan; seven grandchildren: Justin King (Hailey), Mikayla Roberts (Hayden), Kelsey Stevens (Ben), Breanna Heffner (Michael), Daniel King, Carissa O’Neal (Carver) and Janessa King; as well as six great-grandchildren.

A committal service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 16, at Beulah Cemetery in Ohio County, with visitation taking place at the cemetery from 1-2:00 PM.
