Burma Young, 81, of Owensboro, died on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the Heartford House. She was born in Pikeville, Tennessee.
Burma was a loving and dedicated homemaker who enjoyed flower gardening, ceramic dolls, sewing and cooking. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Burma loved spending time with family and friends, and will be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leo Campbell in 1978; a husband, Jim Young in 2011; and a great-grandson, Kody Harmon.
Burma is survived by daughters, Vicki Hayden of Owensboro and LaVonda Jones (Richard) of McLean County; a son, Jeff Campbell (Vicki) of Gahanna, OH; grandchildren, Michael Harmon, Mark Harmon, Matt Harmon, Donovan Campbell, Madison Hayden and Austin Hayden; three great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a step-daughter, Donna Nugent (Wes) and their family; a sister, Carolyn; and her favorite dog, Max.
The funeral mass will be at 10 AM Saturday December 6, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Fr. Brad Whistle will officiate. Burial will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 until 8 PM Friday, with prayers at 6, and after 9 AM Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
