Bruce Allen Midkiff

Bruce Allen Midkiff, 51, of Owensboro, died Sunday, May 22, 2005 at his home. Born in Owensboro, he graduated from Owensboro High School, attended Murray State University, and received a bachelors degree from the University of Louisville. A member of Eaton Memorial Baptist Church, he was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He retired from Owensboro Municipal Utilities where he had worked in the control center as a systems analyst. His wife, Carolyn Parks Midkiff preceded him in death in 2003 and his father, Marvin Midkiff, in 1985.

Survivors include his son, John Allen Midkiff of Owensboro; his mother, Anna Lee Midkiff of Owensboro; his sister, Joyce Gibbs of Spring Hill, FL; his nieces and nephews, Bryan Keith Gibbs of Cadiz, Kecia Marie Whittaker of Bowling Green, Kerry Allen Gibbs of Monroe, NC, Ginger Snyder of Bowling Green, David Parks of Owensboro, Sarah Henderson of Moncks Corner, SC, and Rachel Harmon of Lake Charles, LA.

Services are at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home where visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 8:30 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the John Allen Midkiff Scholarship Fund. Memorial contribution envelopes are available at the funeral home.
