Bruce A. Dillon, 75, of Owensboro, formerly of Cold Water and Kalamazoo, MI, died Saturday, January 30, 2010, at the Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born October 5, 1934 to the late Jim and Beth Lockwood Dillon in Cold Water, MI. He attended Lockwood Community Church in Michigan, and Masonville Baptist and Macedonia Baptist Churches here in Owensboro. He graduated from Western Michigan University, was an Army Paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division at Ft. Campbell, KY. He had been an airplane pilot since 1958, was a member of the Owensboro Pilots Club, and loved to fly airplanes and work on them. He enjoyed traveling with Mildred. They had made trips to Alaska and the Holy Land, also many RV camping trips. He enjoyed watching University of Michigan football and basketball. Bruce will be sadly missed by his favorite dogs, Ju-Ju and Spike.
Survivors include his wife of ten years, Mildred Trotter Dillon; two step-children, Tim Trotter of Madison, TN, and TinAnne Trotter and her fianc', Martin Bickwermert of Philpot; his sister, Judy (Gerry) Wood of Myrtle Beach, SC.
Services will be 6:00 PM Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial in Cold Water, MI. Visitation will be 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Masonville Baptist Church, 6601 Hwy 231, Utica, KY 42376.
