Bruce Lynn Beck

January 23, 1949 — June 6, 2002

Dr. Bruce Lynn Beck, 53, of 711 Chuck Gray Court, Owensboro, died Thursday, June 6, 2002, in Owensboro. He was born in Daviess County, Kentucky on January 23, 1949 the son of James Robert Beck and Edith Beck Chenault.

He was a former anthropology and archaeology professor at Owensboro Community College; participated in 12 excavations in Europe, Israel and the United States; and was a published author. He earned many awards and was a member of Owensboro Christian Church, National Museum of the American Indian and Archaeological Institute of America.

Survivors include his mother, Edith Beck Chenault of Owensboro; a brother, Barry Wayne Beck of Philpot; a sister, Vickie Daugherty of Morgantown; and several nephews and nieces.

Memorial services will be 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2002 at Owensboro Christian Church, officiated by Reverend Myke Templeton. There will be no visitations.
