Brenda Kay Whitehouse, 63, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital surrounded by her family. Ms. Whitehouse was born February 23, 1953 in Daviess County to the late Carl Hamilton and Mae Gibbs Hamilton. Brenda graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School in 1971, attended Brescia College, and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes. As a talented artist, she loved to paint, design stain glass and create dolls. Brenda laughed a lot and had a great sense of humor. She loved her five grandchildren and her dogs.
Ms. Whitehouse was preceded in death by her son, Ryan Settles in 2012 and her grandson, Noah Settles in 2008; two sisters, Judy Hinton and Carol Craig.
Survivors include her two sons, Marty Settles and wife Lauren and their children, Dawson and Evie Grace; Nick Settles and wife Cyndi and their children, Ava, Adalyn, and Alexandra all of Owensboro; brothers, Keith Hamilton and wife Brandi and Carl Hamilton Jr; sister, Lisa Chandler and husband Jeff; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express special thanks to family and friends who loved and cared for Brenda.
The service will be noon Wednesday, February 8 at Our Lady of Lourdes with Father Pat Reynolds officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 till 7:00 pm with prayers at 6:00 pm at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and Wednesday from 11:00 am at the church.
