Brenda Lou Ferguson

Brenda Lou Ferguson, 78, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Heartford House under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of W. Kentucky. The Fordsville native was born September 11, 1947, as one of eight children to the late Chester Talmadge Huff and Louellen Clark Huff. Brenda raised her four children and adored being around family, especially her grandchildren. She was a great cook who was known for her chicken and dumplings. Brenda was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church and enjoyed watching old TV classics.

In addition to her parents, Brenda also was preceded in death by all her siblings, James Huff, Jerry Huff, Jessie Huff, Maxine Mayfield, Judy Williams, Betty Riley, and infant Bobby Huff.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 25 years, Marvin Ferguson; four children, Tamara Laws (Dale), Jeffrey Hayes, Misty Peay, and Shawn Hayes; eleven grandchildren, Tiffany Blake, Nathan Laws, Amanda Laws, Corey Hayes, Rusty Hodges, Benjamin Peay, Timothy Peay, Christopher Peay, Jessica Hayes, Lacey Hayes, and Michael Hayes; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
