Brenda Mayfield Howard

Brenda Mayfield Howard, 64, of 3229 Deer Trail, Owensboro, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2008 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born in Whitesville, Ky. and retired as manager of the Owensboro Country Club. She attended Grace Chapel Church and loved reading her Bible. She enjoyed traveling, spending time outdoors and with her grandchildren, and also reading all types of books and the willingness to learn. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Howard on April 6, 1993, her father, Jerome Mayfield in Dec. of 1996, a son, Ricky Vertress in July of 1961, and two brothers, Donald and Robert Wayne Mayfield.

Surviving are three daughters, Kim Hamilton and Donna Heep and husband Michael, all of Owensboro and Angie Northern and husband Rocky of Whitesville, a son, Buddy Howard of Owensboro, her mother, Juanita Rhodes and husband Bernard of Owensboro, eight grandchildren, Tara and Brad DeHart, Josh Gann, Candece and Brandon Piper, Joshua Clay Northern, and Cole and Tristan Howard, eight great grandchildren, four sisters, Lois Booker and husband Tony, Carolyn and husband Dr. Barney Elliott, and Betty Clark and husband Harold, all of Owensboro, and Charlotte Jones and husband Bill of Louisville, and six brothers, Eddie Mayfield, Leamon Mayfield and wife Sandra, Shelby Mayfield and wife Misty, and Denny Mayfield and wife Norma, all of Owensboro, Roger Mayfield and wife Debbie and Carl Ray Mayfield and wife Barbara, all of Whitesville.

Services will be 12:00 P.M. Noon Friday, December 5, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday and after 10:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
