Brenda Gayle Blan

Brenda Gayle Blan, 60, of 4839 Cambridge Drive, Owensboro, died Sunday, February 24, 2002 at Owensboro Mercy Health System. She was born in Huntingburg, IN on March 30, 1941 the daughter of Edward William and Marian Powell Bonifer.

Mrs. Blan was retired as a dispatcher from the Owensboro Police Department after 20 years. She was a member of St. Pius Tenth Catholic Church. She was awarded the Silber Beaver from the Boy Scouts in 1976 and enjoyed using her computer and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Don Blan; two sons, Donald Ray Blan, Jr. of Double Oak, TX and David Edward Blan of Lake Oswego, OR; a daughter, Patricia Lynn Blan of Glen Ellyn, IL; eight grandchildren; and a sister, Libbi Perry of Evansville,.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2002 at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Father Richard Meredith. Entombment will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Her family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2002 and after 8:30 a.m. Thursday. Prayers will be said at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Pius Tenth Catholic Church Building Fund, 3512 E. 6th Street, Owensboro, KY 42303.
