Brandon “Boo” Grigsby 46, passed away on June 26, 2026, however, the memories, laughter, his amazing cooking, music, huge personality, and love will stay with us for a lifetime. Born on January 16, 1980, his mom affectionately nicknamed him Boo, and everyone knew Boo.
Brandon had a huge heart full of love for his family and friends. He was fun-loving and exuberant but also gentle, kind, and had a quiet, thoughtful, intentional nature. He spent most of his life living in Philpot, where he met and grew up with the girl that would eventually become the love of his life.
He volunteered at the AmVets Post 75, where he proudly served as a board member and was a part of the cooking team. Feeding people was something that he genuinely loved whether it was for a community event, with friends and family, or teaching his kids how to cook before gathering around the table for dinner.
Brandon was a die-hard Chicago Bears fan. He loved watching football with his dad and brother, and anyone else who popped in at his brother’s house on Sundays. Boo loved music and playing guitar. He was self-taught and had an amazing ability to learn to play a song within minutes of hearing it.
He was very proud of his kids who loved him dearly. He loved spending time with them playing music and singing at the top of their lungs, dancing around the living room, water guns and softball in the backyard, or just being goofy. He had a special bond with all of his children, and most recently his grandson. His legacy and love will live through them forever.
Brandon loved his wife, and she felt that love every minute of every day. She was his best friend, his queen, his partner in crime. They met when they were five, played on the same baseball team, she was a cheerleader for his football team, they always had a special connection as friends, and later in marriage. Boo and Angie shared a unique bond, and their favorite place was together.
Brandon is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Teresa Grigsby and Shirley Gower; grandfathers, Denver Grigsby and Jack Pearson; and uncle, Danny Grigsby (Tammy Jo).
Those left to cherish his memory include his adoring wife, Angie Grigsby; parents, Ricky and Kathy Grigsby; children, Gabriella “Peanut”, Dani Kate “Munchkin”, Oliver “Smalliver”, and Jalen Adams (Taylor); siblings, Adam “Fred” Grigsby (Jo Beth) and Katie Jo Anderson (Brian); grandson, Jepson Adams; mother-in-law, Linda (David) Dant; father-in-law, Bill (Denisa) Ditto; and numerous family members and friends.
The funeral service for Brandon will be 12 p.m. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Thursday, 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
