Bradley Emil Anderson

February 14, 1953 — October 9, 2013

Bradley ''Boo Boo'' Emil Anderson, 60, of Owensboro died Wednesday, October 9, 2013 in Dalton, GA. He was born in Jamestown, NY to Martin Anderson, a Silver Star-honored veteran of WWII, and Dorothy Gerber Anderson, an educator. A bright student and avid tennis player, Brad left Jamestown to study Communications at Lindenwood College and later Wake Forest University, where he started a broadcast company for the college's football and basketball games. From there he launched a career in telecommunications that oversaw the beginnings of Viacom and the advent of cable internet access. He was a honorable and tireless worker whose career spanned across North America and Western Europe. Those who worked with him adored his genial spirit and his wonderful sense of humor.

Brad possessed a very gifted mind and constantly sought outlets for his incredible imagination. A Saturday afternoon would either find him at the kitchen table writing or in his workshop tinkering with a sculpture. He found immeasurable fascination with the world and its history, spending countless hours reading in the bathtub. He never shied from sharing his boundless wisdom, especially if he could get an argument out of it. He simply loved people and their stories and would go out of his way to make strangers comfortable. He attended Woodlawn Methodist Church.

Nothing brought him more joy than his children.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Robin Kirtley Anderson of Owensboro; son, Martin Anderson of New York; daughter, Emily Anderson of Los Angeles; brother, Douglas Anderson and wife, Diane of Blairsville, GA; sister, Suzanne Neshkoff and husband, Gary of Temperance, MI and nephews Steven Neshkoff of Detroit, MI and Daniel Neshkoff and wife Lindsey of Vero Beach, FL. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Allen Kirtley, and his mother-in-law, Penelope Henning Kirtley, of Owensboro; along with nephews Alec,Carson, and Eli Kirtley; and nieces Ellyn and Margaret Kirtley. He had a dog, Pete, with whom he enjoyed many long walks along abandoned golf courses.

Services are at noon Saturday in the Chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Brad's long-time friend Pastor Barry Freese presiding. Visitation will be after 11 a.m. on the day of service.

Brad requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to his children's continuing education fund. The family has details for those interested.
