Bonnie Hamilton Hamilton

Bonnie Hamilton Hicks, 69, of Owensboro, died Monday, May 9 at her home. Born December 23, 1935 in Daviess County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Allen and Martine Moseley Allen. She was currently a member of First Baptist Church and for many years was a member of Karns Grove Baptist Church. She retired from General Electric where she had worked for 35 years. Mrs. Hicks was an avid gardener and member of the American Herb Society. Her home had been included on the Owensboro Garden Tour. But more importantly, she was a devoted christian, mother, and grandmother, and was blessed with many friends. Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by her first husband, Ragel Hamilton, in 1977.

Surviving is her husband, Archie Hicks; two sons, Mike (and his wife Cindy) Hamilton and Steve R. Hamilton all of Owensboro; a daughter, Karen (and her husband David) Kiefer of High Point, NC; a step-daughter, Debbie (and Tim) Benningfield of Owensboro; and three step-sons, Archie Hicks, Marty (and his wife Ginger) Hicks, and Wayne ( and his wife Sandy) Hicks all of Owensboro; seven grandchildren, Lexie McDuffee (and her husband Adam), Brittney Hamilton, Luke Hamilton, Mikayla Rose Hamilton, Lindsey Francis Hamilton, David Kiefer (and his wife Olivia), and Hannah Kiefer; four great-grandchildren; and nine step-grandchildren; a sister, Lillian Louise Nicolai of Beaumont, CA.; and two brothers, James Allen of Owensboro, and Jessie Allen of Nashville, TN.

Funeral services are 10 A.M. Thursday, May 12, 2005 at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 P.M. on Wednesday and after 9 A.M. on Thursday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Karnes Grove Baptist Church Building Fund or to Hospice.
