Bobby Gene Sherriff

Bobby Gene Sherriff of 1406 Sioux Place, Owensboro, died Thursday, September 18, 2008 at Owensboro Medical Health System. The Daviess County native was born to the late Henry T. and Alma (Haley) Sherriff. He was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and a veteran of the Korean War. He was with Murphy Appliance for 50 years.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters; Molly Jackson, Ruby Sherriff, Alma Reneer, Emma B. Wimp, Bevie H. Grant and Henrietta Weaver.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years; Betty (Goodwin) Sherriff, a son; Keith Sherriff of Owensboro and his step-daughters; Jennifer Cecil Wright of Evansville, and Chelsea Renae Bruner of Owensboro, and daughter; Karen Sue Howard and husband Gerald of Maceo and her children; Adam Coomes of Louisville, Haley Bennett and husband Keith and great-granddaughter; Shelby Layne Bennett of Maceo, a brother; Billy D, Sherriff of Paducah, and sister; Nora Nelson of Madisonville, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 20, 2008 at Glenn Funeral Home with Rev. Tim McGuire officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be private. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
