Bobby Ray Horn, 80, of Owensboro, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born December 11, 1935 in Daviess Co. to the late Junius and Goebel Roberts Horn. Bobby was the owner of Bob Horn's Garage for 26 years and Horn's Dairy Bar for 23 years. He attended Riverside Baptist Church and enjoyed family gatherings. Bobby had built stock cars and enjoyed Nascar racing. He helped Darrell Waltrip with his race cars when Darrell first started racing. He was a very loving husband and father. Bobby was also preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene, Harold, and Louie Horn, and three sisters, Linda Coleman, Betty Walker, and Maxine Kerr.
Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Rose Thrasher Horn, children, Bobby Joe Horn, LaDonna Horn, Scott Horn, Samuel Thrasher, and Russell Thrasher, all of Owensboro, eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and a sister, Gay Taylor of Owensboro.
Services will be Noon Monday, August 29, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Yellow Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 P.M. Sunday and after 10:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.
