Bobby Joe Hardin, 73, of Owensboro passed away Sunday, May 16, 2010 at his home after a long fought battle with heart disease and cancer. Mr. Hardin was born and raised in Daviess County (Moseleyville/Panther) to late Benny and Elizabeth Hillard Hardin. He was a veteran in the 101st Airborne Division of the US Army. He retired from Field Packing Company after 35 years of service. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, NASCAR fan and loved watching his grandchildren play baseball, but most of all he enjoyed being a grandfather. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda Dant.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years Patsy Epley Hardin; daughter, Liz Alvey Renfrow and her husband Wendell Renfrow, Jr. of Owensboro; grandchildren, Kyle Alvey and his wife Megan of Orland, FL, Krystle Williams, Jade Renfrow, and Landon Renfrow all of Owensboro; and one great-grandchild, Blakelee Williams.
A private family service will be held at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. There will be a celebration of life at the Hardin Home, 1804 Monarch Avenue from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. today.
