Bobby Joe Fortner

Bobby Joe Fortner, 69 of 5572 Ballard Road, Owensboro, died Monday, April 15, 2008 at his home.He was born in Harned to the late Alford and Eva Mae (Kirk) Fortner. He served in the Kentucky National Guard and retired from Eck Miller Trucking in 2001. He was a member of South Hampton Baptist Church, liked hunting and fishing, watching western movies and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by a brother Norman Fortner in 2006 and a grandson Jacob Lathery in 2007.
Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Janet Fortner, children; Jerry and Rose Fortner and Mark Fortner and fiancee Rhonda Gray of Owensboro, Robert Fortner of Evansville, IN.,Susan and Darrel Stites of Philpot, Tonja and Keith Dawson of Rockport, IN., and Robert Haley of Owensboro, brothers; Ray and Chris Fortner of Lewisport, Ralph Fortner of Hartford,sisters; Ailene and Dempsey Manley of Philpot, Imogene and Carole Sisk of Sacramento, and Lena May Rusher and Joyce of Fordsville, twelve grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2008 at Glenn Funeral Home with Rev. Hershel Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. and after 8:30 a.m. Friday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
