Bobby Gene Ford

Bobby Gene Ford, 77, of Lewisport died Saturday, April 3, 2010 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in Daviess County on April 20, 1932, he was the son of the late Robert and Hilda Crump Ford; was a member of the Seven Hills Baptist Church where he was a deacon; and was retired from Big Rivers Electric where he was a machinist. Mr. Ford was an avid bowler; was inducted into the Kentucky Bowling Hall of Fame in 1988 and was the first member of the Owensboro Bowling Hall of Fame (1990); and was a lifetime member of the Kentucky Bowling Association. Mr. Ford was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred D. Sharp Ford in 2002 and a daughter, Judith Ford Ranburger in 1979.

He is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Jimmy) Grimsley of Lewisport, Karen (Robert Welsh) Rednour of Owensboro; grandchildren, Joe (Melonie) Ranburger, Jr. of Owensboro, Jack (Michelle) Roark, Jr. of Philpot, Kristen (Al) Gordon of Lewisport, and Kelly Rednour of Owensboro; and great grandchildren, Davis and Kaylee Ranburger, Kody and Kage Roark, Kaycee Brooks, and Jackson Gordon; and an aunt, Martha Crump of Owensboro.

Funeral services are 12 Noon, Tuesday, April 6, 2010 in the Chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Dr. Robert L. Coons officiating followed by burial in the Owensboro Memorial Gardens Field of Honor where military honors will be rendered by VFW Post 696. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-8 p.m. on Monday and after 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
