Bobby Thomas Christie

Bobby Thomas Christie, 87, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at his home with his family by his side. The Daviess County native was born August 28, 1937, to the late Samuel and Florence Ladd Christie. Immediately after high school Bobby enlisted in the Army. After retiring from there he served in the Army Reserves retiring after almost forty years with the rank of Commander Sargent Major. He also attended Owensboro Technical College and received a certificate in drafting. Bobby was employed as a draftsman for Texas Gas before working with the County Road Department from which he retired. Bobby was known as Snakeman 2.0 at the Joe Ford Nature Center. He enjoyed photography and working outside in the yard. Bobby was a member of Utica Methodist Church. 

 In addition to his parents, Bobby also was preceded in death by his first wife, Cecilia Christie; son, Mark Scott Christie; grandsons, Joshua Thomas Christie and Michael Scott Christie; and sister, Doris Moroz. 

 Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Mike Christie; two grandchildren, Mark Christie Jr. (Krista) and Jasmine Christie; four great grandchildren, Jake Reynolds, Justise Christie, Dixon Christie, and Blakely Christie; daughter-in-law, Sandy Christie; four siblings, Alan Christie (Betty), Sammy Christie, Tina Bailey (Arnold), and Steve Christie; numerous nieces and nephews. 

 The funeral service will be at noon Wednesday, October 16 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 until 7:00 pm and Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery with full military honors.
