Bobby James Burgess

Bobby James Burgess, 57, of Lamplight Circle, Owensboro, went to be with Jesus, Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was a graduate of Owensboro High School, and a veteran of the U.S. Marines. Bobby had a good sense of humor and was good at telling jokes. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Burgess and step-father, Freeman Lyons.
Surviving is his mother, Gladys Sue Lyons, Daughter Brandi Bates, a son, Brian Burgess, his former wife, Betty Sumner, a sister Debbie (Larry) Hatfield, and grandchildren, Gregory Ballard, William Ballard, and Trevor Ballard, and Alexis Bates, all of Owensboro, and a brother, Michael ( Kandy) Burgess of Pontiac, Illinois, several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, with visitation from 10 a.m. until funeral time.
