Bobby Junior Barnett, 74, of Philpot, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital after a short illness. He was born March22, 1942 in Daviess Co. to the late Robert L. and Annie Johnson Barnett. Bobby retired as a Potline Supervisor for National Southwire and Century Aluminum after 35 years of service. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and was a 2015 recipient of the Sophia Award. Bobby was an avid gardener. He loved his family and his church, nothing was more important to him. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Joann Barnett, and brothers, George, James L. and David Wayne Barnett.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 54 years, Theresa Ann Young Barnett, three daughters, Deborah Ann Smith and husband Jimmy of Maceo, Donna Gayle Hinton and husband Bradley, Sr. of Owensboro, and Carla Sue Wydra of Owensboro, two sons, Bobby Randall Barnett and wife Joelle of Owensboro and Stephen Ray Barnett and wife Tosia of Owensboro, 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and siblings, Mary Lee Clark of Owensboro, Wanda Ford and husband Shelby, Stella Taylor and husband Eddie of Hopkinsville, Nelda Nalley and husband J.B. of Owensboro, and Pam Hazelwood of Pleasant Ridge.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 21, at St. Pius X Catholic Church with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday with prayers at 7:00 P.M. and from 8:30-9:30 A.M. Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
