Bobbie Lee Robertson

Bobbie Lee Robertson, 72, of Owensboro, passed away Friday, January 9, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born in Daviess Co., Ky. on February 22, 1931. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Louis and Ava Lee Sharp Robertson.
She was a graduate of Daviess Co. High Shool. She received her Bachelors of Art Degree in English from Georgetown College where she was President of Kappa Delta Sorority. While at Georgetown, she was also Lamda Chi Alpha Sweetheart and Miss Georgetonian. She later completed her graduate work at Southern Illinois University and the University of Kentucky.
In the past, she taught her own private kindergarten and was a speech therapist at the Wendell Foster Center. More recently, she served as clinical supervisor and director of the Speech and Hearing Center at Brescia College and was Director of the Speech Therapy Dept. at Owensboro-Daviess Co. Hospital.
Her awards include a nomination for the Diana Award, membership in Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority, being named as one of the outstanding Educators in America and received the Humanitarian Award from the United Way of Owensboro. She was a member of the American Speech & Hearing Association, the National Association of Hearing & Speech Agencies and Speech Executives, and the Owensboro Rotary Club. She received a key to the city and was a Kentucky Colonel. She enjoyed painting, needlework, and was an avid reader. She has been a member of Third Baptist Church since she was a child.
She is survived by 2 sisters, Jo Ann McCaslin of Princeton, Ky. and Jacqualine Napper of Philpot, 3 nieces and 1 nephew, and 7 great nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 13, 2004, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 P.M. Monday and after 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
