Mrs. Bobbie Bates, 79, of Owensboro passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016 under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky at the Heartford House. She was born in Daviess County to the late Woodrow and Edith Fulkerson Ray.
Bobbie worked as dental assistant for many years and was honored to be named a Kentucky Colonel. Her memberships included St. Stephen Cathedral and Windridge Country Club. She also enjoyed being a part of Glenn Family Service's support group, The Days to Come.
Mrs. Bates was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Lowell L. "Doc" Bates in 2013.
She is survived by two sons, Dr. William J. (Karen) Aud and Dr. Gary S. (Ellen) Aud, all of Owensboro; three daughters, Janie Aud-Riney (John) of Katy, TX, Stacey M. Hagan of Owensboro and Barbie (Tom) Korfhage of Owensboro; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and brothers, Robert L. (Linda) Ray and Johnny W. Ray, both of Owensboro.
The funeral mass will be at 12 Noon, Tuesday, February 23 at St. Stephen Cathedral. Fr. Jerry Riney will officiate with entombment at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4 until 8 PM, with prayers at 7 PM, and after 11 AM Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
