Blanche V. Harmon

Blanche V. Harmon, of amazing spirit and determination was 45 when she passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2024, in Owensboro. She was born in Henderson, Kentucky on December 21, 1978. 

Blanche was a remarkably compassionate individual, dedicating her life to the well-being of those she cherished. Her empathy particularly shone when it came to children; she couldn't bear the sight of a child in distress. With her warm, nonjudgmental nature, she had a unique gift for making others feel at ease and included. Her adventurous spirit and insatiable curiosity drove her to continually seek out new experiences. Moreover, she actively encouraged people to pursue activities that brought them joy, always advocating for the importance of happiness and personal fulfillment.

Blanche held family at the core of her heart, cherishing every moment spent with them. Her affection was especially apparent in the way she doted on her grandchildren; to her, they were flawless, and she reveled in spoiling them. She loved to engage in fun activities with them, such as playful days at the trampoline park, exciting visits to the arcade, or joyful skating sessions. For Blanche, these moments were not just about the activities themselves, but about creating lasting memories and a strong family bond.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Dr. David Harmon; son, Cody Gibson (Elle); daughters, Bionca Woodard (Brandon), Kylie Helming, and Breea Helming; grandchildren, Xander McMurtry, Marley Gibson, and Avi Gibson; niece, Alina Johnson; brother, Jason Banks; as well as one other brother, her mother, and a sister.

Visitation for Blanche will be Tuesday, January 16, from 4 PM until 8 PM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
