Billy F. Hobbs

Billy F. Hobbs, 75, of 4237 Edgewood Court passed away Saturday, September 9, 2006 at home with his family at his side. Born in Fordsville, Mr. Hobbs was a 50 year member of Buena Vista Baptist Church, who had retired from Texas Gas as the supervisor of the property tax department after 36 years, a Braves and UK fan, and an avid golfer who enjoyed playing at Windridge Country Club where he served on the board as treasurer and had served two terms as president. He enjoyed spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Franklin and Hellen Peckenpaugh Hobbs.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Louise C. Hobbs, his daughters, Sherry Hobbs Rhoads and her husband Larry of Owensboro and Kathi Hobbs Hornback and her husband Steve of Shelbyville; four grandchildren, Tommy Rhoads, Stacy Rhoads Castlen and her husband Chris, Kellie Hornback and Bo Hornback; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held from 4 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday and after 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
