November 2, 1929 — August 26, 2010

Bill J Edward Fraley, 80, Henderson, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, at Methodist Hospital.

Bill was a 1948 graduate of Barret High School, where he was in track, boxing, baseball and was all-state in football. After high school, Bill served in the U.S. Army.

Bill and Billie were married June 27, 1951. Bill was well-known in the community. He sold insurance, drove a school bus, coached and refereed. Bill is most known for Fraley's Roofing, which he started in 1971.

On Nov. 27, 1971, Bill was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He enjoyed using his time to share good news from the Bible with his neighbors here in Henderson. Bill volunteered his roofing and construction skills to help build Kingdom Halls throughout western Kentucky.

Bill will be missed by family and friends who look forward to seeing him again. Bill had faith in Jesus' promise at John 5:28-29: ''...all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.''

He was preceded in death by one sister, Darlene Tarbett.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Billie Lois Fraley; three children, Terry, Kimberly and Mike, all of Henderson; three sisters, Glennis Thomason and Sonja Staples, both of Henderson, and Lois Wellman of Louisville; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Minister Tom Belt will officiate.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Kingdom Hall Construction Fund, P.O. Box 1271, Henderson, KY 42420.
